    Cen.grand was founded by™&'" experienced audio professionals.∑'®↕ The research and development ofπ¥≈¥ digital audio started in 2009 and the β₩company had established in 2→≥011.  The purpose ™<∏was to develop and produce digit™≈§•al players. We focus not Ωγ≠↓only on audio but also​♠ on video because we believe that•÷♠ products with leadiπ∞​ng technology both in ∞★‌audio and video are sufficently≈≈✔ competitive.

 

      A  Blu- ∑Ray scheme , Marvell 8 γ‍8DE3010 , was chosen as the base of∏≈& our first media player.  We have ↓∏€chosen Sigma design as&nbs✘'✔ p;cooperative partner before among seve★™↑ral supplier . Although  Sigma×÷β scheme's HD Blu-ray performance is£★ very good  butπ♥¥ the audio performan₩‌←♥ce is average. In order to get a hif≥• εi-quality architecture¥¶> , we asked Sigma to modif↓&♣y the core of the chip‍♣ according to our design.&↕€nbsp; After a long wait, we got &nb★βsp;rejected and the staff of the off∞¶ice in China told us privaλφtely that they thought that our reque ♣st was "perverted." we&δ♣  gave up finally.

 

      What σ£happened later prove↑∞ d that  we were luc®Ω₹ky to be rejected by Sigma des←✘ign!  Without t✔¶©his rejection Cen.grand  would n€'÷‍ot be able to reach the current . Afte∏☆∏r being rejected by Sigma w±•§↔e turned our attention to anot→↓her American company, Marvell, which ©≈is a high-tech company in §'•δthe US that has a reputation♦♣ in the chip field. Since 2008 ∑¶‍‌ they have developed Blu-ray so•‍&πlution for Google and Sony  γ£☆;but the plan was not completed ×♥↕for various reasons. It ¶¥λwas a coincidence that we•§  met this project and  felt go→÷®od after the initial test. $π'♠The most important  is that the≤‍γy fully accept our requestφπ↑≥ about redesign the chip core . After a×♦&☆ year of R&D and millions ₽&§of investments, the 3010 solution of•π audio architecture our p∞↕lanned  was finally★γ₽ completed. Setting u""♣p the platform to test and the €∞ effect is very exciting. &nbs&™£<p;The hifi quality is so good that ↔♠sigma design can not be compared.÷®☆" Plus the QDEO technology of Ma™₩rvell that was awarded many times , i§>ts video performance is super-class, Ω÷←the 3010 solution  is excellentπ​φ.

 

       ↓;The reason why audio perfor πγmance is so excellent is tha♣™t it has two DSPs inside, one is Cirr' usLogic, dedicated to m₩←ulti-channel decoding, and the other is♦¶ Philips, dedicated to hifφ‍✔i.  Although there are ₽✔πmany ways to audio decoding ÷♣such as the use of single-chip€‌÷ , arm chip, fpga, and even intel chip,απ∏ etc., the quality of Philips≤‌9; high-end audio DSP is prov★ ed to be the best  afterγ₹ a long time of testing . The &≥≥​concept of “dua♦β l independent audio clock” was​↕δ first proposed by Cen.grand in 200♦♠9 and applied to pro​‌™™ducts in first time.  A≈Ω♦s a legendary brand in the audio ind≠σ₽÷ustry, Philips' audio DSP alg'→ orithm is undoubtedly the advan★αδ tage. Most☆× of the people who hold this ★♣↔view are misled by our me↔ φδrchants competitor and a few are ∏≠¶due to a habitual thinking o≤↔$r lack of professional knowledg ✘←e.  As time goes on thδ§✔e Cen.grand's hifi media pla‌✘€₹yer has been well-known in ¶α&the hifi market. &nb £§sp;Many fans support ≤∑us in the hifi group. A ™✘lthought it was so exp""☆ensive the 9i-AD "black©♥§★ gold version" and§λ>★ "black gold ultimate ‌∑♣♦version" are still the le‍" ader in media player market.       T €↔©he 9i-AD is main prod✘∏★₩uct of Cen.grand at that tim<"e. The black gold version has won marke ↔σ✔t recognition with it→↕↕s majestic American style sound. Th®δ×e ultimate version of Bl✘••ack Gold has attracted many high-π&end fans with its exquisite Nordic sty≥επle sound. The 3010 schemΩ<e‘s prominent feature is↕σ that it has superior deφ→βtail and analytical ability as well as ‍£εa very high density . Most of h ♣€igh-end equipment have this characte‍α±↓ristic and features . The DAC chip was≤φσ WM8741, an excellent DAC fr☆±∏om Wolfson , which was almost u₹ £¥sed in all Cen.grand's&₩γ∞ digital products in that time. &nb€←​✘sp;There are two sto​≠ries about wm8741 that b€ e worth recalling.

 

      The choice of th♣¥♠e DAC chip was also in ↕σprogress  when the project was≈$$↕ started.  Ther£∑σ≤e were not many chips th∑★at could support PCM192 i®≤n that time and WM8741 d¶<λ'id.  WM8741 was very fam₩→∏ous in the UK because the enλ≤☆gineer of Linn said that it wa♠λ  s "the only DAC  can meet the≈​↕ requirements of Linn."×↓✔;  Our R&D tea←✔m chose it,  wrote an arti≤  cle on the Hifidiy forum to intδ♦₹roduce the DAC and called it  &q↔↓₩uot;King of Analogue Sound&qu$$♣ot;.  We also made a test board o≤≤₩f WM8741 for sale and♠♣ responded enthusiastically.  ÷ ;Subsequently many user asked us<$ to produce a complete product of →β WM8741 for sale ，We did,  t₩​he complete product sold more than> ≈φ 1,000 sets in a short period of time♠​♥.  The number o§≥∏λf clicks on this article ₩ exceeded 3 million a₹§↔nd became the first article of the  β☆₹hifidiy forum at the t₹$ime. This was an interesting history. ×→∞ Many users became the users of th>$Ω₽e first generation of₽¥  Cen.grand and<↕ ↔  have followed '¶₩ us to the present, we are ✔αεmoved.

 

     →λSince WM8741 is very excellent,&nα€bsp; we also chose WM8805 as recevin¥→©$g chip which was also the produ™®ct of wolfson. Its performance is β indeed worthy of its price׶≠.  It was a one of the f±¶↑ew chip that could support PCM192 at₹‍₽ that time.  It'₹≈€;s great that it's jβ≥itter was only 50ps,  δ​γ←;However, it has a fa÷$tal bug: the support for PCM176.4€≤ is unstable, which makes many manuf✘₽acturers didn't dare to use iλ→♠$t.  Cen.grand's R&D team δ‌←✘worked hard to circumvent this↓★Ω bug by using multiple jumps&nb•↕∞∞sp;imaginatively and got success i"←•✔n the end.  Since 2011 we only ‌×πused this DIR for product aδ↕nd it's stability is excellent. Wol¥σφfson's staff expressed  ap∏σ$preciation for us and authorize↓ ÷d  to Cen.grand to use their ©¶'→special markings on the product'sγ>★γ panels.       The first p♠> §roduct of Cen.grand is♠​ not the media player but the ✔Ω 5i-10 DAC. See the picture✘ → below. This product has no ∏βhigh technical content and i↕→βs the standard application of WM880®≤≥5+WM8741. The sound stylλγe of 5i-10 DAC  belongs to  ™♦traditional British style.  αβ;The analytical ability of 5i-10 ✘≠λ is general, the sound is soft and wa€≠ rm and it is suitable foε×≈r enjoying the charm of voice aπ₹nd strings , not↔ε← for large-scale music. At that ☆≠±≈time the price of 5i-10 DACαφ was  very cheap , only RMB 2K σ‌↔, so it got good market  βperformance. 

 

 

      Th↑₩≠₹e first media player of Ce♥ ÷n.grand is 5i-A/5i-AD as φ☆♦★shown below. This was the first product ☆☆↑ in China which used &✔™§>quot;dual independent audio cΩ>≥εlock + audio DSP"><&α  framework. Bot→☆≥×h the two media players have one bri"‍ght spot:  there was 5.1-chan£•nels analog output .

 

 

      The 5i-10, ​¶∑5i-A, as well as 5i-AD product←​s constitute the original σ™product line of Cen.grand.  ε≈Ω"; Althought the ₽se products were not avai♦• δlable for sale in 2011 becau≥☆¥se R/D delay,  we stillδ≥≈ got  a considerable n€‍§umber of pre-order.  Later, th☆₽εe 5i-300 video HD players €•¶€and the 5i-1600 Blu-ray dis♥¥c players were also put on the >φmarket successively.

 

      Why is thε÷∞<e product model name 5i?  The origβ↔Ωinal meaning of 5i is "I love"≤€;.  A series of ±₽π&products enabled Cen.grand<> λ to quickly accumulate <‌≠αa large number of users←¶ in the first two years, and has a goo$☆d reputation in the hifi field and high≠÷₽-definition AV field. But these  &≤∞products were mid-range productsε♠ , which were not enoug±¥ δh to lead the market.  ££​'Therefore the development★σ © of the 9i series products has been p✔‍ut on the agenda since 2012. Th‍€•e meaning of "9i"↕"☆ was "just love.&qu≠₽ot;  The first 9i series '¶∞εinclude two products: §Ω 9i-60SDAC and 9i-→βAD media player.      ★$Ω  

 

 

       Two  ↔years later the 9i-80S DACσ   went on market and replacing¥<  9i-60S. It loaded the lates©¶×t XMOS second-generation USB §✘εsolution, and uses cpld technologyβ> for digital processing. I↑ βσt's DAC chip was AK≤∞×4495, 2pcs, and the output circuit >♥"™is same as 9i-AD black gold $•version. This DAC also has a↕δ good reputation among useδ↔​rs. It has a heated discussio←$≠n on the some hifi forum and ‍∏≤is a successful product of Cen.grand.♣≥

 

 

 

       φ↑ The highlight of the 9i-6₩✔0S DAC was that  a new output cir♠÷₹cuit had been used whic☆ 'h with majestic Ameri≈∞can style sound so the &φφ≥quot;darkness" of WM8741≠↕ sound was removed.  It completely↕​ replaces  the 5i-10 DAC.&→¶§ nbsp; The significance of th♥↔σe 9i-60S DAC is that it × αshows the potential abibity o׶φf the WM8741. It also proves thatπ÷α the chip can not  determines the±σ♣£ final sound. A excellent circuitσ'↑☆ design can make the same chip get an "♣variety of sound. The  t&↑ &echnology of 9i-60S was used in the 9 €↓≥i-AD product so change the C×σ↕±en.grand brand from "¶¶β;hifi+AV" to "major±↑® hifi and additional βשAV". In this sense it is a memor↑λable product.

      Althought♣↓←→ some of the bugs in the 3010 whic≈♠h  lead to poor compatibili ≈δ±ty ，we also got very good sales perf>∞®ormance because  better in hifγα↔i. This is reward of our design ±∞team's efforts .  In a s>φ★$ense, anyone who went to understa∑®δnd the Cen.grand must startα≠​$ with his 9i-AD .

 

 

 

 

 

 

9i-AD  Black-Gold Version , B∑ ♣☆lu-Ray Music, Bβ♠​lu-Ray Concert, Multi-Channel hifi

 

 

      The first ε‌εshow of 9i-AD was at the SIAV  Exδσ↔ hibition in Shanghai in 2013₹≤λ and  launched in June o π™§f the same year.

 

 

     The purpose  ↓of product 9i-AD is to improve the audi↔≠☆o quality and handling of 5i ser✘λies.  It's p±♥♠rice is more than 10,000 yuan. The &n≈∑→♥bsp;style of appearance is traditional±∏♥ , not fancy, simple and α¥γgenerous and focusing ∞®σ on the traditional hifi market.±γ‍★

     These purpose∏£¶ s were quickly realized, but the fina>'≠l version was delayed for≤&©≈ a long time because of sound adj∞≥ustment process agaiπ✘Ω®n and again. Audio products have ≥§✔such a rule: no matter how advanceλβd the design of the sound was, the® φ sound may not be suitable for the hum'¥‍₩an ear,  after all &n≠÷bsp;the human ear is emotional but β£↓the theory is rational.
